700 unID FEB 6 2259 - EE newstalk by a woman in an accent that was somewhat British-sounding with Afro-Caribbean influences. Signal dropped under SS stations. It could be Jamaica, but the time seemed too early and antenna bearings were more easterly (towards the eastern end of the Caribbean,

or South America). If it's Linden, Guyana, it's a station listed as being just 1 kW. [Connelly*O-MA] Hope that was indeed Guyana on 700. I don't think anyone ever heard them if they are indeed on (which has never been clear?) 6PM local doesn't seem technically too early for Jamaica. I used to work Fla SSS before that time in Feb from RI. However it is not usual to get Jamaica at that hour and your antenna and conditions suggest that you may have had Linden if indeed they are on. 760 BRAZIL R. Record, ZYH888, Fortaleza, FEB 6 2250 - fanfare music, PP talk; in messy jumble with apparent Guyana, Venezuela, and Colombia. [Connelly*O-MA]

760 VENEZUELA R. Puerto La Cruz, YVQQ, Puerto La Cruz, FEB 6 2304 - religious-sounding talk mentioning a meeting "en Porlamár"; poor, in "stew" of others. [Connelly*O-MA]

Hideki Watanabe - Japan - NCB02724@nifty.ne.jp (via IRCA AM News Flash)

I had a trip to Guatemala City from December 28, 1998 through January 1, 1999. Although my stay was so short, I tried very hard to check what the local stations were going on. Based on my research, I realized a lot of stations having shifted from MW to FM. Followings are the MW stations received during my stay in Guatemala City.
